Stuart Thomas. Maker of the highest quality turned wood Needlecases.
Stuart has been turning wood for about 15 years and in recognition of the high quality
of his work, his name is listed on the Professional Register of the Worshipful Company
of Turners of London.
He has recently mastered the art of turning screw threads by hand and is making
a distinctive range of needlecases.
Each needlecase is hand turned and made especially for you. No two pieces will ever
be exactly the same; each one is a miniature work of art.
Over the years, Stuart has produced work for all the National Trust shops in Wales,
has been involved in restoration work of a 17th century manor house, has done turning
for kitchen firms and furniture makers as well as undertaking private commissions.
Now that Stuart is semi-retired, he has the freedom to focus his attention on making
things which he really enjoys.
Having lids which screw into place is obviously an advantage when storing needles
as push fit lids are liable to come off if the item is dropped.
